Residential Elevator FAQs

How much space will i need for an elevator?

Approximately 52"W x 56"D. These dimensions can be custom made slightly smaller or larger.

How much maintenance is required?

We recommend an elevator inspection at least once per year. Maintaining the elevator is vital to its performance and longevity.

What are the costs associated with elevator installation?

Cost can vary depending on the following: how many landings, are the doors lined up at each landing, cab interiors, fixture type, etc. Also if it’s addition to an existing home then a general contractor will need to be hired to build the hoistway, provide electrical power, telephone line, and install hoistway doors. Residential elevators are considerably smaller than commercial elevators, lesser capacity, slower in speed and serve a single family residence ONLY. Code dictates that residential elevators be 15 sq. ft. or less, unless a variance is granted by the state and travel no more than 50 ft.
